Appointed by President Barack Obama and confirmed by the U.S. Senate October 14, Charlottesville resident Timothy Heaphy was sworn in today as United States Attorney for the Western District of Virginia. Most recently a partner at powerhouse firm McGuire Woods, Heaphy served as assistant U.S. attorney for 12 years, from 1994 to 2005. The UVA/UVA Law School grad succeeds John Brownlee, who resigned last year for an unsuccessful run for Virginia’s Republican attorney general nomination.
Congrats, Tim! Great 3rd baseman and an even better person.
