Casteen to be UVA's commencement speaker

John Casteen's two decades in the presidency of UVA have been honored with an invitation to serve as the 2010 Commencement speaker. According to a release, the speakers committee usually forwards a list of ten prospective speakers, but this year, they forwarded only Casteen's name. Last June, the man trained as a scholar of medieval literature announced that he would retire after 20 years at the helm. In January, successor Teresa Sullivan was named.
