Devvarman falls at Wimbledon

While Somdev Devvarman has officially arrived in the world of tennis qualifying for his first major championship, dreams of winning Wimbledon will have to wait another year. The UVA alum and Charlottesville resident lost in the first round of the Wimbledon gentleman's doubles tournament along with teammate Kevin Anderson yesterday. The pair won the first set against the fourth-seeded duo of Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles, 7-6, but lost the next three sets, 6-4, 7-5, 7-5.
