Holiday 36

So often we hear complaints about parking, I thought it might be nice to mention when something works out well.

You recall the controversy in these pages about parking at the Paramount Theater's stage door [News, "Loaded: Paramount asks to co-opt spaces," February 17].

The neighbors needed two-hour parking, but the Paramount wanted a loading zone.

The neat solution: a flip-sign. When the artists' fancy tour bus and equipment trucks pull away, the loading zone signs flip back to two-hour parking. According to the Paramount's production manager, (the guy in charge of sign-flipping), it's working just fine.

Kudos to the traffic engineer for a tidy solution.
