A locally made indie movie received four awards at the Bare Bones International Independent Film Festival in Muskogee, Oklahoma in late April.
Out of 25 feature films accepted into the festival, the makers of When Love Walks In were recognized for Best Clean Flick, Best Actress, Best Soundtrack, and Best Festival Marketing.
"I think it's fantastic," says Shironbutterfly Ray, co-director of the six-year-old event. "We made it our opening movie, and the city was very pleased."
The picture was directed by two brothers, Brad Williamson of Sawyer, Michigan, and 37-year-old Kent Williamson (profiled in an April 21 Hook Facetime), who runs Paladin Pictures from his house in Ruckersville.
The Brothers Williamson credit the Charlottesville music scene for the Best Soundtrack award, as such area favorites as Terri Allard and Carbon Leaf made multiple contributions.
"They're just a great group of guys," says Ray. "I expect great things from them."
When Love Walks In is the tale of a photographer struggling to find love and raise his only child after his wife's untimely death.
