For the third consecutive year, world class tennis returns to Charlottesville. Some of the finest up and coming players in women's tennis are in town to battle it out on the courts in Boyd Tinsley's $50,000 USTA Women's Pro Championship. The tournament, hosted by the Boar's Head Sports Club, has become one of the most highly regarded stops on the USTA women's pro-circuit tour.

Following two days of qualifying matches, the official tournament kicked off Monday, May 8 with an opening reception at the Boar's Head Inn Ballroom. The reception brought together players, officials, sponsors, members, and staff who noshed and mingled to tunes of local musician Travis Elliott.

In addition to court time, the players are scheduled to participate in a couple of programs to bring tennis to the community, including a kid's clinic and a school outreach program.

Interested in catching some of the action? Semifinal matches are set for Saturday, May 14, singles and doubles finals Sunday, May 15. A complete and updated schedule is available after 4pm on match days at procircuit.usta.com.
