A little help from some friends

 BY JEN FARIELLO

We fell in love with New Orleans about the time we fell in love with each other, and we've enjoyed periodic trips to the Crescent City over the years to enjoy its delicious food and friendly residents. For us as photographers, being there was all that more exotic, and we loved capturing scenes from all around the city. We were heartbroken by Katrina and her aftermath, and wanted to help in whatever way we could. So we decided to make available several images (hollandphotoarts.com/neworleans) from our time in the French Quarter to anyone who wants a cool print to hang on their wall. We're donating all profits to Red Cross relief efforts.

Caroline Minsky

I moved to Charlottesville three years ago from New Orleans. I'm donating to the Red Cross online and volunteering at the door for the September 25 benefit performance of bluesman Corey Harris at the Garden of Sheeba.

Mike Poole

The employees of Grand Furniture are donating to the Red Cross. Our corporate office will match all donations. Right now we have over $400.

Tim Quayle

I donated a little bit of cash at the UVA football game Friday– nothing too substantial.

Pat Crawford

I'm in the process of organizing a drive for items to go south.

Sharon Manering

I donated funds to the Humane Society for animal rescue and safety. You can donate online by credit card at hsus.org.
