All Allard: Women line the walls for Bill

National Geographic photographer William Albert Allard knows how to draw a crowd. While the local media were largely mum on his latest exhibition, art lovers, fellow photographers, and even a noted author poured into the C&O Gallery on Thursday, September 1, for a sneak preview of his show.

Dubbed "Her Picture in a Frame," this showcase spans nearly 30 years of girls and women who've made their way into Allard's lens.

"Tanya Towering over Bardot" is the title of the 30" x 40" print holding center stage in the intimate gallery, but the favorite of photographer Jon Golden is "Children of the Village," an image Allard captured with a Leica in Behorleguy, France in 1967.

Prints are $1,500 to $3,000, and the photographs are on view until September 30.
