Crews from Atkins Excavating Inc. of Greenville have begun re-routing a water line around Little Ivy Creek, the first step to getting West Leigh its drive back. The Ivy-area neighborhood lost its main drag on March 20, when raging waters undercut the culvert that had carried water under the road for more than 30 years. "This is an innovative solution to cut-through traffic," quipped neighborhood spokesman Rick Kast in a letter to residents. Officials have yet to peg a completion date for the road's reconstruction.
