FILM BOX- Local film
Published April 11, 2003 in issue #0010 of The Hook
Homegrown documentaries and film shorts will be the stars of the evening at the Vinegar Hill Film Festival, taking place April 17 and 18 at the Vinegar Hill Theater just past the west end of the Downtown Mall.
Filmmaker and City Council candidate Alexandria Searls curates the event, which will feature short films from filmmakers around the state.
Included in this year's event is a film called Snow Day, by a Monticello High School student, and Buy Nothing Day, by Paola Christy and none other than Searls herself. Don't miss Bean, a film about coffee (appropriate given C'ville's penchant for coffee). Tickets are available at the door and priced the same. The filmmakers will be at Vinegar Hill each night to lead discussions on their respective films, so get in the mood for some local on-screen flavor and come Downtown to meet and greet the gods of film. Wednesday at 9pm and Thursday at 7 and 9pm. --Erin Crahan
