QUESTION OF THE WEEK- Should schools restrict what students wear?

Published January 22, 2004 in issue #0304 of the Hook

Matt Cierce: "No. I think it is a form of personal expression that should be the prerogative of each student."

Roberta Williamson:
"That's a tricky one. Yes. I like the idea of no slogans on clothing. I think it distracts from the learning atmosphere, but I understand that everyone has their First Amendment rights."

Ellen Kovacs:
"No. I think kids should be allowed to express themselves freely. To restrict that would be to discourage them from being individuals."
