Wow, that was an odd article about Terry Holland [Hotseat, September 23: "Go East (Carolina), young man"]. You seemed to go out of your way to bash ECU without acknowledging how far it has come since its "EZU" days of the '50s and '60s (an undeserved moniker even then).

ECU is now a major doctoral research university with some of the highest athlete graduation rates in the country (top 25), among the same esteemed group as, yes, UVA. And the list of achievements goes on.

It's something Terry Holland understands. With a bit of research, you could have understood this too.
