Thank you for publishing the recent article about the connection between mercury poisoning and autism. [April 7 cover story: "Generation Hg? Is Autism puzzle solved?"]

As the aunt of a niece with autism, a nephew with Asperger's, and a nephew with ADHD, I have watched three sets of parents struggle over the past few years to be the best parents they can under unusually difficult circumstances.

It's so important to spread awareness for early diagnosis and to find a cure. Profit and fear of lawsuits have allowed the use of mercury in dental fillings, vaccinations, and poor EPA standards to continue. I urge Hook readers to contact their political representatives about this issue.
