After reading the Laura Parsons' review of Kristin Myers' art [April 28: "Meaning elusive: Myers' empty images"], I can only wonder if there is some personal axe to grind here.

Let me say that I have not seen the artwork myself, beyond the piece pictured in the article, so my response is limited to the tone of the critique. Parsons' comments went beyond frank observation and well into calculated cruelty.

If there is a lack of talent at work here, it is clearly in the realm of basic human decency. Raise the bar, please.
