i shyed away from those other companies and used ipodjuice.com for my ipod battery kit since they had PRINTED instructions - not a dvd that would have forced me to do the installation in from of my computer (yikes!) and they offer a 10 year guarantee (sp?) on their batteries. I think they (ipodjuice) is working on an iPhone battery also.

Just as a possible angle to address some of these issues, I wanted to pass on the following information.
Our company, PodSwap.com pays fair value for broken iPods in either cash or credit toward brand new iPods or used iPods backed by our 90 day guarantee. We analyze each broken iPod on a case by case basis to try and maximize the price we can pay for it. When it comes to broken iPods that seem not worth repairing, we provide some consolation in the form of cash or credit value.
Recycling is an important part of our purpose. Our mission includes re-using all parts which still have a satisfactory function level, and ensuring that those that aren't are properly recycled and NEVER sent to land-fill.
Regards,
Alex Lee
