Temperatures are rising, and Charlottesville got a double bill of warm-weather music on Thursday, June 7 from New Orleans R&B legends the Neville Brothers and from Ziggy Marley, son of Jamaica's favorite son.

Opening with the Creole-infused "Hey Pocky Way," Aaron, Art, Charles, Cyril, and Ivan kicked off the evening with a set of up-tempo soul shakers and harmony-laden ballads. Though the show was a family affair through and through, it seemed most of the audience's focus was on Aaron's distinctive tenor and-- in the case of certain female fans-- his bulging biceps.

Over the course of the 20 minute break, the crowd got bigger, decidedly younger and its average hair length longer in anticipation of Ziggy Marley. If they were looking for the same sort of energetic performance for which Ziggy's father Bob was famous, they were not disappointed. Bounding across the stage shaking his long dreadlocks, Marley performed original hits like "Black Cat" and "Into the Groove," along with plenty of Bob covers like "Roots, Rock, Reggae," "Is This Love," and "Jammin'."
