One arguably unfortunate thing about guitar pedals is that far too many of them include volume knobs when they shouldn’t. Turn them all up, and you’ve got a real mess on your hands. Keep that in mind when you meet Athens, GA experimental indie rock quartet We Versus The Shark, who are reaching the tail end of a year-long attempt to brutalize your favorite songs; all through 2008, they’ve been releasing one song from their upcoming covers album Murmurmur. “We are loud to all and obnoxious to some,” they say, “Sorry.” Check out the cover of Radiohead’s Idioteque, our second in as many weeks, and decide for yourself.
