LETTER- Hear the one about the cop?

The stories of local police problems in crosswalks ["This man: Was hit by a police cruiser in this crosswalk-- and then given a ticket," December 6] remind me of a recent joke:

Q: How many cops does it take to push a guy down the stairs?

A: None... he fell.

Q: How many New York cops did it take to impale a defendant with a broomstick, and then lie to the American public about it for 30 days.
