So it was Stone on the grassy knoll?

Award-winning filmmaker Oliver Stone spoke on Friday, November 4, day two of the Virginia Film Festival. His talk followed a screening of his lengthy JFK, a film that purports to show flaws in the official explanation of the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Despite the passage of 20 years since release of the film and the near universal disdain of his scholarship by professional historians, Stone suggested to the Culbreth Theater audience that a cabal of military leaders conspired– somehow getting assistance from the FBI, CIA, and the Dallas Police Department (among myriad others)– to slay the 35th president in public view. Questioner Larry Sabato, working on a book about the killing, posed polite questions to Stone, who said the message was clear to subsequent peace-seeking presidents: "Don't f*ck with the system."

Two Hill School grads hanging out in c'ville- Stone and Trump!

Stone reminds me of Mr. Huja. No matter what the facts are stick to your storyline - now that's chutzpah.

Stone(d) is the grassy knoll.

All he did was puke up fiction. Ya think that his theory (fantasy) might have had way too many conspirators to make sense?

"cabal of military leaders conspired– somehow getting assistance from the FBI, CIA, and the Dallas Police Department (among myriad others)– to slay the 35th president in public view"

........and now Sabato is going to regurgitate it all again?

perhaps any proceeds from a book will be donated to UVA- he has done that before

This reminds me of the McCarthy supporter ( can't remember his name) who during the hearings said - don't confuse me with the facts my mind is made up.

What a dirtbag, is it possible for leftists to express themselves without vulgarity? I guess if you can't comprehend complex ideas then a decent vocabulary is totally out of the question.

I used to believe that JFK was killed by some shadowy conspiracy too, but eventually realized that that belief had to do more with an unwillingness to accept that the world can be a cruel, random place than with the facts of the assassination.

JFK hardly "f*cked" with the system. He WAS the system, as much as any president. He dealt with a great many crises and managed most (but not all) of them very, very well. But to think that he was such a peacenik that the pentagon, fbi, cia, etc, conspired to kill him so that LBJ would sink us into Vietnam is delusional. Yes, JFK would have probably not made the same mistakes as LBJ, but he DID preside over the Diem assassination, which made the US responsible for any subsequent outcome in Vietnam.

Stone is a Vietnam vet whose experience in that war affected him deeply. This explains his theories on JFK's assassination more than the facts of the case does.

Opinion: Unnamed Lyndon Johnson who wanted the Presidency in the worst way and who was "barely tolerated" by the Kennedy's was the top person behind the assassination of JFK! JFK's assassination still remains one of the biggest cover-ups in American history!!

Roger- so how many were/are involved in the cover-up

meanwhile.... Stone is actually a decorated VN war veteran- Bronze Star and a couple of PH's.
