Although a house was demolished to make way, the proposal fell victim to the Albemarle County budget crisis. The budget crisis got so bad that there was even a threat to close this small library

Correct me if I am wrong. I thought the money for the new library was slotted a few years back. And that it was just planning that held up construction on the new library. All of those opposed to the new library must be a little happier today.
