I really do not beleive that the reviews about pesto grill that I see posted around the web are factual. I went to Pesto’s today for the second time, the first time I went I walked out because of the ridiculous prices. They seem to think they can charge sit-down upscale restaurant prices at a walk in carryout place.

So today my wife really wanted some food and we didn’t want to drive all the way into town, so we decided to suck it up and pay the ridiculous Pesto prices. Point blank I wish I would have drove right past Pesto Grill. I ordered the beef kabob platter, which came with mixed vegetables and rice at a price of $14.00. The kebobs were horrendous with a paltry portion of vegetables and the toughest beef I have ever tasted. In fact I’m still trying to chew. My rice was simply overcooked white rice with some very unflavorable pesto sauce mixed in the rice, truly atrocious. In comparison to places like Sticks and ZamZams this place is not even close, but yet their prices are much higher.

I’m just mad I dropped 15 bucks on a horrible to go meal and I could have went to Three-Notch, I’m truly pissed off. I should have known not to go in once I saw that we were the only there at 5PM.

I really may have to go out and get some other food tonight.

To the Owners:
Some sound advice to save this potential train wreck…
a) Make better food
b) Lower your prices to a respectible level
c) Call Gordon Ramsey from Kitchen Nightmares

I cannot disagree with the prior reviewer more! My experiences at Pestos have been very positive and I have eaten there 4 or 5 times in the two months!

I will concede that the price struck me as a bit high the first time I walked in the door, but when I saw the portions, I felt Pestos provided a great value. I have never eaten there without taking home a second meal. I would say they could lower the prices perhaps on the few items which do not travel well - like grilled cheese - and another possibility is for them to offer their entrees in half and full portions but otherwise, I am happy to pay for a decent portion of high quality food. This is takeout/delivery but it is not "fast food".

We especially love the spanikopita, the grilled veggie sandwich, the tapanade and the grape leaves. The fries are yummy too ( unfortunately ). The service is quick and the staff is friendly. I love the fact that they offer a wide range of vegetarian options. The menu is extensive which makes dining out with the whole family easier.

My mother and I ate at Pestos for dinner Tuesday night. It was pretty busy, but the service was excellent. I ordered the chicken kabob w/ grilled veggies and pesto rice, the chicken was absolutely fabulous, it was so tender and juicy and full of flavor, the rice was delicious with the homemade pesto sauce, and the veggies which are a personal favorite were good as always. My mother had the Moussaka w/ roasted potatoes and she loved it, the homemade bolognaise sauce is excellent, I could probably eat a whole bowl of that alone. For dessert we shared the trifle that the owners wife makes, it was delicious and the perfect ending to the meal. They have a pretty good list of Wine and Beer featuring traditional greek wine and local beer.Dont forget about the $1 Budlight and Budweiser special they have everynight from 5-7pm. Great food and great service. Give Pestos a try I promise you wont be disapointed.
