Pree, a DC quintet named after a Neutral Milk Hotel tune, plays folky rock with modern touches, more or less splitting the difference between Joanna Newsom and Modest Mouse.

Also featuring DC guitarist Meredith Bragg, who became the talk of the town’s blogs after his record Silver Sonya sampled, looped, effected, and manipulated the bejesus out of his guitar and vocals to create songs with much larger sonic palettes than the instrumentation might lead you to believe.
