Snap o' the day: Letters still being written

Buford Middle School student Charlotte Keeley, right, is one of three Virginia winners in the Letters about Literature national writing contest, in which students write to their favorite author. The reading of the student letters traditionally kicks off the Virginia Festival of the Book, which runs from March 18 to 22. Behind Keeley is author Catherine Gourley, who founded the Letters contest and received 54,000 this year.
