Terror attack: Synchronicity aide, daughter slain in Mumbai

Along with his 13-year-old daughter, a leader at a Nelson County spiritual retreat center has been slain in the Indian terror attacks, according to the center’s website. As first reported in the Lynchburg News & Advance, Alan Scherr, a Vedic astrologer and leader of the Synchronicity Foundation, and his daughter Naomi were gunned down in a restaurant inside the Oberoi Trident hotel while on a meditation visit organized by the center.
According to the report, four others in the 25-member entourage were also shot in the Oberoi carnage, but survived.
“It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of two of our loved community members Alan and Naomi Scherr who were tragically killed in the recent events in Mumbai,” reads a message on the front page of synchronicity.org. Scherr’s wife, Kia, the mother of the slain girl, lives at the monastery but did not go on the trip.
Synchronicity was founded in 1983 by Charles Cannon. Now known as Master Charles, he utilizes audio and meditation to achieve inner peace and transcendent thought. An alleged 2006 sighting of the so-called “Blessed Mother” at the Nellyford-area retreat center brought renewed interest as well as skepticism to the Synchronicity program.

Pakistan agency kill americans
This news is heart breaking. Prayers will go up for her and all the victims of this monstrous attack. Everyone around the globe are shocked and horrified at the cold blooded murder of innocent people. There is no excuse for carnage and the murder of people. I pray that this huge loss is not in vain, that some how all leaders around the world will unite more strongly to oppose what can only be described as pure evil, that contaminates the boarders of the whole world. Human life is a gift and is special, these victims were special and they matter. Sue
Billions of people from all religions are very confused. Yes, even the nice Muslims are confused. Since 9/11, I have studied Islam. Be very careful what I’m about to say. I know this: The evil Muslims are practicing their religion. The evil Muslims DID NOT hijack their religion. The evil Muslims are following the precepts of the Qur’an, the Muslim Hadiths, the Muslim Sunna, the Muslim Sira, and the Muslim Taqiyya. For example, the Qur’an contains 164 violent passages. I will write three of them here to give you an idea:
1. “O ye who believe, fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you, and let them find harshness in you, and know that Allah is with those who keep their duty,”(Sura 9 Verse 123).
2. “Be ruthless to the infidels,”(Sura 48 Verse 29).
3. “Kill the disbelievers wherever you find them,”(Sura 2 Verse 191).
Friends, this is only a taste. The Muslim historical documents are replete with violent passages that are not conducive to humanity. So you see, the evil Muslims are “living their religion,” whereas, the good Muslims have hijacked Islam. And it’s a good thing that nice Muslims are not practicing Islam. What I have written is true. If you don’t believe me, check it out. Now, do you see why all the confusion?
Dear Philip S, I agree with you! I also find it so hard to believe that such a large group of people blindly follow a mere man who did not lead a holy life at all and who claimed to have received his information from an “angel”, well Lucifer is an angel albeit a fallen angel who can take the form of whatever he wants. It is too bad that such a large group of people will follow someone who speads such hatred among his fellow man. Thank God for the nice muslims- it seems that they at least have a conscience that is working somewhat.
I will be bolder in that I actually believe that the prophet had real visions but that these were not from God. There are huge references to him being devil possessed at times, foaming from the mouth and had to be restrained. I believe Islam to be a rise up in order to become and enemy of Christ. However I do not think that all Muslims are evil, nor that all wish the death of non Muslims - there are radicals that want this, but the leaders do not want it for Allah but for themselves like false prophets, these convince young men and women to give their life for Allah and tell them what an honour it is, but if it is such an honour why do they need to use youngsters for suicide missions? Why not do it themselves? Bin Laden, he trained and sent these out to do what he wanted, he did not give his life up for martyrdom. One point though. Many of these radicals are willing to kill muslims as well. And, on par of the mourning of the dead, I am not sure the comments are appropiate here. Our thoughts should be on those who suffered this horror, not on hate, or abuse because it is this that is being used to bring about such horrors. - Sue
In Lourdes, the Blessed Mother Mary, mother of the Son of God appeared to a little girl of 14 - St Bernadette Soubirous. She told her that if the world does not change it’s ways of violence,hatred, and disrespect for life and God. She also was given prophesies that to date, have all come to pass. The one that has not is that we will suffer a third world war and she has been told of the exact number of lives that will be lost. She also wrote of the peace that will come under the rule of God, that will result from the carnage and the lessons that will be learned. She was also told that all muslims will convert to Christianity and Islam no longer a threat to world peace. If we pray, then many lives will be saved in this upcoming purification and our punishment mitigated a little. Pray for Peace in our world for we are all God’s children. God did not make 10 suggestions to live by but 10 COMMANDMENTS. he first one is - I AM THE LORD THY GOD AND NO ONE COMES BEFORE ME. This world belongs to GOD - not even a grain of sand belongs to us. We are only on a journey to him therefore to fight over what does not belong to us, to kill in the name of mankind - even one revered by mankind, is a sin against God and he will tolerate it for only a little while longer. The people of the world must take the blindfolds off from their eyes and see the world as it is with all the ugliness we have wrought through our own fault and look up to heaven for guidance through this terrible time to come - 9/11 and Mumbai are only the beginning. Let us pray for our world, around the world and defeat the evil that is deceiving and blinding us. God Bless all. My sympathies and are with all who suffer at this time.
