In presenting the financial picture of the Rivanna Solid Waste Authority to its board Monday May 18, director Tom Frederick said that layoffs are coming because recycling revenues are dropping, and so are the volume-based fees from waste deposited at the two trash centers under its control. No mention of van der Linde.

Time for the City to jump ship and stop this ridiculous law suit against Van der Linde. Tom Frederick should be fired for going after a private citizen who has out smarted him.

Tom Frederick has no power to sue in court in the name of RSWA. It was the board’s decision. Interesting that they’re willing to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in a law suit and layoff people in order to do so.
