At around 12:00pm today the little Wachovia Bank on 10th Street, across from Martha Jefferson Hospital, was robbed. City spokesperson Ric Barrick says that a 6-foot tall white male with “scruffy” facial hair, and wearing jeans, a white T-shirt, and a red and black stocking cap, demanded money from a teller with a note. The bandit then fled on foot down 10th Street and hoped into a waiting vehicle which headed out of town. Anyone with information should contact police or Crimestoppers at 977-4000.

meh, this particular bank has proven to be an easy target for bank robbers for years. It’s not the first time it has been robbed, and it won’t be the last time.
But now that you bring the subject up, if the cop shoppe hadn’t assigned so many cops to specialized duties over the years, maybe they would have adequate coverage in the patrol division. Maybe they could have had a patrol car on routine patrol at the time that could have prevented the robbery. How’s that? Did I do good? :)
