Hot on the heels of the isolated news about an Iron and Wine show in February, The Paramount Theater on the downtown mall has now announced a fairly large slate of new shows for the upcoming spring season. Here’s what you need to know about the music schedule; if you want to check out all the other Russian ballerinas and so forth, head over to their calendar.
- 2/5: indie-folk singer Iron and Wine
- 2/10: violin/piano duo Joshua Bell and Jeremy Denk
- 2/14: country singer Phil Vassar
- 2/27: folk singer Arlo Guthrie
- 4/1: sensational jazz singer Norah Jones
- 4/9: the presumably-adorable kids of the African Children’s Choir
Josh Bell and Nora Jones? perhaps things are looking up for the Paramount.
If it’s not Josh Groban he can stay home.
Iron and Wine is a step in the right direction, otherwise, bit of a snooze. Still unclear who the target demo is.
Yawn. I’m still waiting to see a real schedule that is even remotely similar to the “sample” schedules they were promoting when they were begging for money.
