Rob Sheffield, the Rolling Stone music critic who got his start here in Charlottesville and whose first book, Love is a Mix Tape, detailed his love affair with his late wife and was the subject of a Hook cover story, has written a second music-inspired memoir. Talking to Girls About Duran Duran: One Young Man’s Quest for True Love and a Cooler Haircut is an ode to the ’80s— and the ladies— that was named one of Amazon.com’s Best Books of the Month in July 2010 and has received both glowing and semi-glowing reviews.
