Emmylou is an award-winning songwriter who was discovered by Gram Parsons in the early 70’s and was an important part of his “cosmic American music”, including the seminal posthumous album Grievous Angel, before striking out on her own in 1975. Pretty soon she had attracted the attention of Dolly Parton and Daniel Lanois, among others, and more recent collaborators have also included Dre Straits guitarist Mark Knopfler and Bright Eyes singer Conor Oberst.
