Local country-rock band of brothers Sons Of Bill had themselves a pretty irresistible album in their 2006 debut A Far Cry From Freedom even before they eventually re-released it with new mixes, re-recorded lead vocals, and a little more sonic polish all around. Their second album, set for release here, tapped the aural talents of Jim Scott, longtime producer for Wilco and the guy in charge for the deliciously eponymous leaked album that Twitter wouldn’t shut up about last month. Adding that sonic boot to guitarist Sam Wilson’s usual kicks-in-the-pants to little bro James’ songwriting should be just the ticket. Now all they need is some Gallagher/Followill-style family drama and they’ll be on their way.
