Gail ‘For Rail’ Parker running for Senate again

by Lindsay Barnes

Following an unsuccessful run for the U.S. Senate in 2006, Gail “For Rail” Parker is once again running to represent Virginia in the world’s most deliberative body. The 62-year-old retired Air Force officer will run under the banner of the Independent Green Party and will offer a platform of installing a light rail train system to solve the Commonwealth’s transportation woes. Parker announced today that she has the requisite 10,000 signatures to get on the ballot, which she will present to the State Board of Elections today.

Her ‘06 campaign gained national attention, and not only for the fact that she may have swayed the unprecedentedly close election to Jim Webb with her last minute endorsement. No, Parker’s legacy is greater than that; her radio ads featured a jingle so catchy that it even caught the ear of Comedy Central’s Stephen Colbert.

Your disclaimer caused me to click on the sound bit.

All I could think of while listening to it was baseball, apple pie and Chevrolet.

And yes, it was stuck in my head until I went to my iTunes and pulled up “My Humps”! :)

Light rail… very catchy. Any other issues on the burner or is she going to run solely on her advocacy of light rail? So Gail, what’s your position on: the war, the stuttering butt chimp we have in the whitehouse, the near collapse of the dollar, our failed foreign policy and international public relations, 4$ a gallon petrol, high school seniors that can’t perform 5th grade arithmetic…. any thoughts on those issues? Just wondering. I’d love to hear what you think. :)

    GREAT campaign song!

Gail “for Rail” Parker repeats the Comptroller General David Walker’s call for an auditable accounting system at the pentagon. Stopping no bid uncontested contracts. Gail “for Rail” echoes Ron Paul by calling attention to the $1 Trillion federal tax dollars wasted overseas on foreign misadventure and misappropriation.

Parker’s positive solution is to stop the squander. Bring Americans home. Balance the budget. Pay off the federal Debt. Stop stealing from Social Securty to line the pockets of Halliberton and that crowd of faux patriot chicken hawks, who never served in the U.S. military.

Gail for Rail’s previous campaign was an extraordinary success.
The Independent Greens put Gail on the ballot for U.S. Senate offering positive solutions.

Indy Greens also put U.S. House candidates on the ballot in 8 of 11 congressional districts. In the process Indy Greens spoke to over 1,000,000 Virginians face to face.

    She traveled 50,000 Virginia miles.

By getting in the public debate, the Indy Greens helped define the debate. Advocating Virginia and nationawide rail to cut dependance on foriegn oil (along with solar, and wind power).

That’s a victory in and for Virginia and this countries electoral system by any reasonable measure.

There is no truth to the rumor that Steven Cobert will attack Gail “for Rail”’s campaign theme song by dancing in a TuTu and Green high heels.

    No truth whatsoever…hehehehe
