You’ve seen the homemade “Brake for Sydney” signs along Route 29. Today, the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles announced the expenditure of $129,000 for new signal-synchronized warning lights near Ashwood Boulevard, site of the fatal wreck in which 16-year-old Sydney Aichs died May 9. Installation begins tomorrow.

The real problem with that light is coming south on 29 over the hill, if you are behind an suv the light is hidden from your view. They need to put an extension and raise the light up about 8 feet so it can bee seen… ( I realize that this is sort of unnesasary for those who obey the speed limit but the objective is to save lives despite the speeders who will always exist no matter how much we ticket)
