November 4, 2009 12:00 am to 9:00 pm

chickenupOn Wednesday, November 4th the Pita Pit on the Corner holds its annual free pita day, 11am-9pm. There’s no obligation to buy anything, but the event does serve the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, and there will be folks on hand to collect food and cash donations.

The food bank accepts canned meats, canned vegetables, canned fruits, canned and stewed soups, grains, boxed pastas and sauces, and non-refrigerated beverages. However the items needed most are pasta, rice, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, canned meats (tuna, chicken), and dry cereal.
