Elvis Gene Shifflett, the Esmont man shot by Charlottesville Police last October after leading authorities on a multi-day manhunt after attacking his girlfriend, has pleaded guilty to multiple charges. The Daily Progress reports that he admitted yesterday to pulling a gun on his girlfriend, the incident that led to the chase.

Earlier, an investigation by State Police exonerated the officers who shot Shifflett, and in May Shifflett pled (using Alford pleas) to charges stemming from his flight from justice.

The Progress‘ Liesel Nowak reports, the still-recovering Shifflett appeared in court yesterday leaning on a walker as he pleaded guilty to pulling a gun on Linda Shifflett October 13, 2006 in Court Square.

Nowak reports that when sentencing occurs in October 16, Albemarle prosecutors intend to recommend that Shifflett receive a sentence of at least five years in prison.
