Despite a mountain of miserable news lately about the housing market and a growing list of unfinished houses on the auction block, there is at least one hopeful sign in the Ridge Street neighborhood, where Staunton-based contractor Mark Stables began framing a single family home yesterday.

    Really? This is worth mentioning? What’s the context? Who is building, and why, when there’s three years worth of unsold inventory in Central Va? Weren’t there some pretty cardinals or rising jonquils that would have been more “hopeful”?
