Let us to speculate… on Red Lobster and King Chef

by Dave McNair

According to County construction permit records, there are plans to build a 7,203 square-foot, $1 million Red Lobster Restaurant (presumably our second one) along Route 29, presumably at or around Fashion Square Mall, since the mall’s owner, Simon Debartolo Group, is listed on the permit. However, a call to Red Lobster headquarters revealed that the existing Red Lobster on Emmet is simply moving and should be open on September 13. In addition, the County shows that there was a permit application filed for a $42,000 renovation for a new King Chef Chinese Restaurant beside the Pantops-area Giant grocery store in Rivanna Ridge.
