Cirque du Soleil to JPJ Arena

It’s not everyday that a mime enters a newspaper office bearing gifts of balloons and a hoola hoop. But then again, it’s not every day that Cirque du Soleil announces it’s coming to the John Paul Jones Arena. The show is scheduled for August 1.
As anyone who’s seen Cirque du Soleil knows, the shows are a multi-faceted extravaganza, blending music, dance, acrobatics and superhuman feats of strength and flexibility. The new touring stadium show, dubbed “Delirium,” promises all that and more. According to press materials, the John Paul Jones arena will be divided in half by a 130-foot, two-sided stage. “The audience is literally submerged in the huge set and 540 feet of projected visuals create an incredible interaction between the show and the spectators.”
That interaction had better be pretty darn spectacular: tickets– on sale April 29 at the arena’s website– start at $71.50 and go up to $101.50. Yow!

    Yeah! What he said!!

And even if it is a little more expensive than JPJ prices at least you’ve also got the Ambiance and the gambling.

And I can also guarantee that you *won’t* be seeing something like Cirque du Soleil: Zumanity at JPJ.
